How does paintless dent repair work, step by step?
How does the PDR process work?
PDR involves four steps: (1) professional damage assessment using a light board, (2) gaining access to the back of the affected panel, (3) using precision metal rods to push each dent back to factory shape through dozens of small controlled movements, and (4) a final light-board inspection to confirm every dent is fully restored.
1. Damage assessment

2. Panel access
Technicians carefully remove trim, interior panels, or lighting assemblies as needed to reach the back side of each dented panel. This varies by vehicle make and which panels are affected.
3. The repair
Using precision rods and pushing tools, the technician applies controlled pressure from behind each dent — making 20 to 40 individual movements per dent until the metal returns exactly to its factory position. This is skilled work that takes time. Speed is not the goal; accuracy is.
4. Final inspection
The light board comes back out. Every repaired panel is re-examined. The vehicle isn't released until the repair meets the standard.
